GEC+Africa is a platform for Startups to make new deals and connections. Whether you are a startup looking to meet potential investors or test your product to a wider market, this platform provides exactly that for you! It’s a platform designed to support startups from Seed to growth Stage.

Investors

GEN Africa has recently launched the process to attract over USD$100million investment capital which it will use to support various startups across the continent. The GEC+Africa will be attracting various global VCs, Private Equity firms, Development Financial Institutions and many more. Many of these institutions represent hundreds of Funds and has over USD$100 billion for investment in startups.

Policymakers

GEC+Africa not only looks at startups and investors but also looks at key individuals, agencies and institutions that produce a conducive environment for startups to grow. At GEC+Africa, policymakers will also look at new policies to introduce in their African countries that will support the development of startups in their countries.

Incubators/Accelerators

GEC+Africa will also gather leaders of incubators and accelerators to learn on what their peers are doing in various countries. They will get to meet potential investors that will serve as an off-take for their incubator pipeline.

Every year, the Global Entrepreneurship Congress gathers together thousands of entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, policymakers and other startup champions from more than 170 countries to identify new ways of helping founders start and scale new ventures around the world. At the weeklong GEC, delegates make connections, gain insights, learn about new research and leave ready to renew their programs, policy ideas or firm founder skills.

GEC 2019 will take place in Manama, Bahrain – a thriving startup hub with more than 4,000 years of history as a commercial crossroads. GEC 2019 will be held April 15-18, 2019.

Co-hosted by the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) Africa, the GEC+Africa is a gathering of start-up champions from the African continent aimed to support the start and scale of startups across the continent and also aimed at attracting the global entrepreneurship community to the continent.
